59. Book Review: The Dynamic Path

August 17, 2010 by duffgibson

Today’s post is a video blog in which I talk about a book I have read recently called The Dynamic Path by James Citrin.  If you have any questions or comments we’d love to hear them.

Some people may ask: How can it be 100% this and 100% that at the same time? Its simple, when everything is working in harmony its like a hologram where every piece of the puzzle contains the whole picture. I am still working my way up the ranks and in a development phase of my athletic career but when I picture myself on top of the world in my sport, everthing is working together in harmony.

At the time when I am at the top of my sport, I am giving everything I can to family and relationships, nutrition, fitness, self awareness, business and it is all working together in harmony so that when I am in that pressure situation there is nothing but single focus supported by dedication and dilligence.

That must be the dominating mental picture from day one if you want to be a top performer. Every top professional athlete has that confidence to see themselves already there and feel the love and joy that comes along with that before they even sign up for their first team. Sidney Crosby is the perfect example in that commercial when it shows him as a young athlete talking about how amazing it would be to do something you love everyday and he became the youngest Captain to win the Stanley Cup!
